Q: How do I use the syringe?

A: Click here to learn how to use and troubleshoot an Emerald Bay Extracts syringe.

Q: Has this product been lab-tested?

A: All Emerald Bay products have been submitted for testing by a leading, independent cannabis lab at three separate points in the production process. To confirm no contaminants, pesticides or heavy metals are present, we test cannabis at the farm prior to purchase. After processing cannabis into RSO, it is tested again to confirm initial results and ensure no pesticides or other contaminants are present in the extracted products. RSO is packaged into final consumer products. Random samples of final products are tested by an independent lab for potency, pesticides, heavy metals, mycotoxins, and residual solvents. Only after passing this final test are our products offered for sale.

Q: Can you ship me products?

A: Unfortunately, state and federal laws prevent us from shipping our products either within California or across state lines. Emerald Bay Extracts products are available solely from licensed dispensaries throughout California.

Q: How do you source your cannabis?

A: We work with top-tier, pesticide-free farmers to source the best sun-grown cannabis available throughout the entire state of California. To ensure we can continue to offer the same strains year after year, we strive to develop long-term relationships with farmers, uplifting legacy growers and providing new farmers with much-needed economic stability.

Q: What is the difference between RSO and other cannabis extracts?

A: RSO is a special type of orally consumable, full-spectrum cannabis extract. Unlike many products in the cannabis market our goal with RSO is to recreate the cannabis plant in an orally consumable product. This means we aim to capture the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids present instead of trying to just capture the most amount of THC possible. RSO has served as the gold standard of medicinal cannabis products for more than two decades.

Q: What is the difference between Emerald Bay RSO Syringes and Tablets?

A: Emerald Bay RSO Syringes contain pure RSO extract in the simplest oral format imaginable — a plunger syringe. Emerald Bay Extracts Tablets, on the other hand, consist solely of RSO and microcrystalline cellulose, the primary component of many pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, as well as silicon dioxide - a normal additive to pharmaceutical tablets and supplements to allow them to be pressed into a pill. RSO tablets, for instance, absorb almost entirely through the digestive tract while a considerable amount of the RSO in a syringe is absorbed through the mouth if applied sublingually.

Q: Should I chew or swallow Emerald Bay tablets?

Emerald Bay Extracts RSO Tablets can be chewed or swallowed. If tolerated, chewing your tablets will allow cannabinoids to be absorbed into your bloodstream through your mouth, bypassing digestive metabolism and offering a faster and more predictable effect. For those who prefer swallowing the tablet whole, this is also a great method of consumption! Please be aware that effects can take longer to kick in this way (30 minutes to 2 hours) depending on the contents of the stomach and underlying health conditions.

Q: What other ingredients are in Emerald Bay tablets?

A: It was one of our formative goals as a company to always ensure that Emerald Bay Extracts products contain the bare minimum of ingredients to protect the health of our customers. As a result, our tablets consist solely of RSO, microcrystalline cellulose, and silicon dioxide.

Q: Which solvent do you use to extract cannabis?

A: Our products are extracted using food-grade ethanol. We designed a custom system specifically for extracting cannabis, taking extra effort to preserve the full cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile present in the plant.

Q: Does any trace alcohol remain in the products?

A: We subject our RSO to an additional extraction stage to ensure that all traces of ethanol have been removed, but a few molecules may be left behind, which should be noted for individuals with severe ethanol sensitivities. In a closed chamber, RSO is gently heated with exterior water to ensure proper burnoff of any residual ethanol is achieved as fully as possible.

Q: Can I smoke Emerald Bay RSO?

A: Emerald Bay Extracts RSO is not designed for inhalation. Our process has been designed to capture the original cannabis plant and turn it into an orally consumable product. We do not take extra steps to refine or change the flavor profile of our extracts, instead it is our goal to capture the entourage effects of cannabis.

Q: Is this product intoxicating?

A: Any Emerald Bay Extracts products that contain THC are liable to have intoxicating properties. Products containing CBD or CBG, on the other hand, will not have intoxicating effects unless THC is also included. Products that contain a high amount of CBD or CBG are less psychoactive and will not likely produce the “stoned” effect that one may experience with some of our THC products.

Q: How do I get oil out if the syringe is stuck?

A: To get the oil in your syringe flowing again, all you need to do is heat it slightly. Hold it close to body heat for a few minutes, or run it under medium-hot water for around 30 seconds. After being heated, your RSO will be much less viscous and ready to be squeezed out of its syringe.

Q: How much Emerald Bay RSO should I take?

A: Ideal dosage of RSO varies depending on the person and the cannabinoid. When trying THC RSO for the first time or as an inexperienced user, for instance, it’s best to stick with 5mg or less. Some of our high-tolerance customers battling serious conditions, however, use as much as an entire 1g THC syringe per day, showing how dosage all depends on context. With cannabinoids that are not intoxicating, starting at a low dose usually isn’t as important. Still, we recommend starting with a low dose of our CBG or CBD RSO just to give your body time to acclimate and your mind space to adjust.

Q: Can I break Emerald Bay RSO tablets in half?

A: Yes, all of our RSO tablets are designed to be broken in half if desired. Note the indentation running through the middle of each tablet. Just hold the tablet between the thumb and forefingers of both hands, and apply pressure along that indentation. The tablet should snap in half roughly evenly, allowing you to save half for later if desired.

Q: How do I get my RSO tablet container open?

A: Your Emerald Bay Extracts RSO Tablet container features a child-proof safety lid that is released by applying pressure and sliding the seal backward. Holding your tablet container in one hand, use the thumb of the other hand to push back firmly on the lid. Then, use the thumbnail on the same hand to flip the lid upward.

Q: Can I add Emerald Bay RSO to food and drinks?

A: Yes, including Emerald Bay RSO in your next meal, snack, or beverage is an ideal way to ingest this high-potency extract. Some customers dislike the strong flavor of cannabis extract, and adding RSO to a drink or food item masks the taste quite well. Just keep in mind that heating your RSO above approximately 150°F could damage its precious terpenes and flavonoids, so consider avoiding adding RSO to hot meals or drinks.

Q: How long do the effects of Emerald Bay RSO last?

A: The duration of effects offered by our RSO tablets varies depending on the dose and the user, but in general, a 2-4 hour window of primary effects will be experienced regardless of your metabolism or the dose of RSO ingested. Our medicinal customers often choose to take another dose of RSO every six hours or so to ensure continuous effects throughout the day.

Q: What is the difference between THC, CBD and CBG?

A: THC is the intoxicating cannabinoid for which cannabis is most famous whereas CBD and CBG are both non-intoxicating even if they each have unique properties. RSO was originally made with THC, but it’s just as possible to make RSO using CBD or CBG plants. Along with relieving pain, THC makes you feel quite high at large doses, something CBD and CBG do not do despite also having powerful analgesic properties.

Q: Is sativa, indica, or hybrid best for beginners?

A: If you’ve never tried cannabis before, we generally recommend that you try a hybrid or indica strain. Sativa strains of cannabis tend to be more cognitive, and when paired with THC, sativa terpenes can elicit quite overwhelming effects in new users. Remember to also start with a low dose to give your body adequate time to acclimate to the effects of cannabinoids.

Q: Are your products Gluten Free?

A: All of our tablets and syringes are formulated without gluten. However, our food-grade ethanol is made from corn and can be cross-contaminated with wheat during the manufacturing process. Therefore, we recommend caution when using our products for those who have a severe gluten allergy.
